It was a far from boring first live show on the second season of 'X Factor', complete with bickering judges, new co-hosts and lots of makeovers. Hey guys, welcome back to ClevverMusic, this is your X-Cap. 'X Factor's' brand new hosts debuted last night: reality TV star Khloe Kardashian and 'Extra' host Mario Lopez, and we thought they did a pretty good job. The two seemed to get along well, and we enjoyed Khloe's off the cuff questions for the contestants AND the judges. Now for the judges: Demi Lovato debuted new brown locks with bangs and Britney also got the bangs memo, because she debuted her own version. Now, for the performances. The 16 remaining acts performed with the theme of the night: "Made in America" and sang songs chosen by their mentors. Here are the best highlights of the night. Paige Thomas on Team Demi opened the show. Demi suggested she shave her head so she did it. Dressed in a crazy Lady Gaga inspired outfit she performed "What Is Love" by Haddaway and you could barely hear her vocals in the overproduced number. Simon loved it while L.A. didn't like the song choice. Team Demi's Jennel Garcia changed up her look as well, sporting darker hair and blunt bangs while she sang Motley Crue's "Home Sweet Home". All the judges loved it and thought she nailed the rocker theme. Team Britney singer Diamond White sang Train's "Hey Soul Sister" and totally owned it, and the judges loved the song choice and thought her vocals were great. We loved Lyric 145's performance last night of, the thrown together rap group mixed "Boom! Shake the Room" with PSY's "Gangnam Style" in a colorful high energy performance. Britney said, "I was genuinely entertained." Team Demi's Cece Frey went platinum blonde with her hair and we can't help but compare her to Ke$ha now. You couldn't hear her vocals in her over produced number when she sang "Because the Night" by Patti Smith, but Simon still liked it saying, "I think you're someone we need in this competition." Team Simon's LYLAS had to change their name due to legal reasons so they came up with "1432" which apparently means "I love you too"? The fivesome girl group sang their version of Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" which we liked, but L.A. bashed the performance dubbing it "karaoke". 13-year-old Carly Rose Sonenclar on Team Britney sang an interesting choice by Britney: Flo Rida's "Good Feeling". Her vocals were surprisingly stunning while dressed in a school girl outfit inspired by Brit's "...Baby One More Time" music video. The last performance of the night totally rocked the house. It was Team Simon's Emblem3 who sang "One Time" and totally nailed the charismatic yet energetic performance. L.A. complimented Simon for once saying that "You got it right this time." While Demi confessed her crush on them saying they made her "swoon". The judges will be deciding who goes home from the first live show, but we can't wait till America gets to decide! Who do YOU think should go home? Be sure to subscribe to ClevverMusic for all your X-Caps! I'm Misty Kingma, see you soon.
