Thanksgiving Book Report: Consider the Turkey by Peter Singer

The best recipe for Thanksgiving turkey 2024 is to leave turkeys off your plate because they're lil beings. Peter Singer’s “Consider the Turkey” is a valuable book for animal rights activists, animal welfare scientists, and carnivores willing to open their minds and hearts to consider the plight of this thinking, feeling bird and consider a vegan or vegetarian approach to your meals. As stated, I don't go into any gory/graphic descriptions, but the topics are still inherently upsetting. Chapters include a rough (comparative) scale from "not THAT upsetting" to "very upsetting." It's vibes-based, but hopefully helps you choose to selectively listen to the least horrific parts, if that's where you're at today! I have a Master of Science degree in International Animal Welfare, Ethics, and Law from the University of Edinburgh's Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies. Yes, that's the official name and punctuation. I'm a writer (mostly musicals, and also the video game MONSTER PROM) and actor. You can check out more of my work at www.MaggieHerskowitz.com ERWIN is a neutered male, born September 9, 2023. Erwin was the youngest rat his first family had, and when his older brothers died, they made the decision to rehome him. I adopted him February 2024. He is a squishy cuddlebug during the day and turns into the chaotic Night Erwin at 10PM. He absolutely loves cuddles and chaos. He has four sisters, not featured in this video, but definitely a big part of his life (rats should never be kept alone!!!) I haven’t done a ton of digging because I want to get this out by Thanksgiving, but they seem really great! https://www.upc-online.org/
