Boxing Fight Preview: James DeGale vs Badou Jack Jan 14th, 2017 Fight Analysis, Betting Odds, Pick Event Details Event: James DeGale vs. Badou Jack Date: Saturday, January 14th, 2017 Location: Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York Boxing Odds: James DeGale -275 BETTING ODDS: Badou Jack - o10.5 -375 +235 James DeGale - u10.5 +305 -285 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- James DeGale is favored against Badou Jack in a super middleweight title fight at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on January 14th on Showtime. DeGale is 23-1 in his career while Jack is 20-1-2. "It's here. The big one," DeGale said. "The best fighting the best. No. 1 against No. 2.” DeGale has won his last 13 fights while Jack is unbeaten in his last five bouts. James DeGale (23-1, 14 KO’s) DeGale won the IBF super middleweight title last May when he defeated Andre Dirrell by unanimous decision. He has successfully defended that title twice as he beat Lucian Bute by unanimous decision last December and he beat Rogelio Medina by unanimous decision this past April. DeGale has respect for Jack but said he isn’t planning to lose. “Badou Jack is a very good fighter. He doesn't do anything spectacular, but he's a complete fighter.” DeGale said, “I have that X factor. I've lost before, and I'm not going to lose again. I've come too far in my life to lose this opportunity." DeGale has little doubt that he is the best fighter in the division saying, "I believe I'm the best in the division and one of the best in the world. I've been waiting for this fight for a long time, and I'm ready to get in there. I think in the last three fights I've shown everything. I haven't been getting the respect that I deserve. I've beaten everyone put in front of me. This is what I love to do. Me and Badou Jack are two different fighters. I think I'm going to beat him wide on the scorecards or stop him." Badou Jack (20-1-2, 12 KO’s) Jack won the WBC super middleweight title last year when he defeated Anthony Dirrell by majority decision. He defended that title with a win over Georges Groves last year and then fought to a majority draw against Lucian Bute this past April. Jack now faces a very tough fighter in DeGale but Jack is confident. "I'm expecting a very tough fight from James DeGale, but I'm very confident that I'm going to win the fight and become the unified champion," Jack said. "This is an incredible stage to be at Barclays Center and on Showtime, and I'm going to take full advantage of it. I'm ready to make my mark as the best in the division." Jack definitely realizes he is going against a top fighter. "DeGale is definitely one of the top guys in the division. He's a road warrior," Jack said. "He comes over here and fights guys in their backyards. He deserves a lot of credit. That's why this fight is so big. We both want to be great." Bet on James DeGale vs Badou Jack at BetDSI Fight Notes DeGale is hoping to get a fight against light heavyweight champion Andre Ward but he first has to get past Jack. “It may sound crazy but I even fancy a fight with Ward. Two Olympic gold medalists, I don’t know if we could do a catchweight or he could come back down. I think he can still do super-middle. I want these big fights, ‘The Night of Gold’, that would be some night. I have to get through Badou Jack first, and if I get through him there are a lot of big fights there. The next four years, that’s when I’ve got to work hard, get the big fights, earn my money and run.”
