KDW on FOX 5 PLUS TV Washington DC Rohingya Genocide in Myanmar - Badrul Khan with Dr Wakar Uddin

Rohingya Genocide in Myanmar - Khan's Digital World, Dr Khan interviewed Dr Wakar Uddin. Aired on November 11, 2017. Dr. Badrul Khan’s Interview with Dr. Wakar Uddin (4:30 PM, Saturday October 21, 2017) Welcome to Khan’s Digital World. I am Badrul Khan. Thanks for being with us today. In our last episode, I talked about Ethnic cleansing and genocide of Rohingya ethnic minority in Myanmar formerly known as Burma. It seems that during hurricanes and other crises consuming attention in the United States, many Americans may not have heard about the ongoing humanitarian disaster in Myanmar. Since August 25, 2017, the Myanmar military had launched "clearance operations" against the Rohingya Muslims in Rakhine state that left over 3,000 dead, many more injured, tortured or raped, villages burned; over 500,000 Rohingya fled to Bangladesh. It is reported that before the 2015 Rohingya refugee crisis and the military crackdown in 2016 and 2017, the Rohingya population in Myanmar was around 1.1 to 1.3 million, mainly in the northern Rakhine townships, which were 80–98% Rohingya. Over 900,000 Rohingya refugees have fled to southeastern Bangladesh and other surrounding countries. More than 100,000 Rohingyas in Myanmar are confined in camps for internally displaced persons. Let me explain how this ethnic cleansing is being done in Myanmar, the Security forces surround a village, shoot people fleeing in panic and then torch houses to the ground. For generations, Rohingya Muslims have called Myanmar home. Now, what appears to be a systematic purge, they are quite literally, being wiped off the map. It is reported that the attacks against Rohingya by security forces and Buddhist mobs were "coordinated and systematic," with the intent of not only driving the Rohingya population out of Myanmar but preventing them from returning to their homeland. In legal terms, these are crimes against humanity – systematic attacks and forcible deportation of civilians. Today, I have invited Question 1 Why is the genocide taking place against Rohingya in Burma? What is the root cause of crisis? Question 2 What is the current situation? Wide serious and widespread it is? How do you monitor the situation on the ground? Question 3 How is the international community responding to the crisis? What do you want to ask the American people and the international community? Do you expect any solution to the crisis soon? Conclusion remark by Dr. Badrul Khan The Rohingya crisis in Myanmar formerly known as Burma is deeper and greater than we in the international community is aware of due to the inadequate coverage of the issue resulting from blockade of the international media in Arakan by the Government of Burma. The Burmese military has shifted its strategy to Buddhist Rakhine militia groups and vigilantes that are still burning down the Rohingya villages and blocking food supplies as the Burmese Government is blocking the international humanitarian relief groups. This is strangling the remaining the Rohingya population, and now forcing people to flee to Bangladesh – safety and starvation the most serious issues today in Northern Rakhine state in Burma. Since Rohingyas recently fled to Bangladesh were deprived of education in their homeland Burma, I want to help them get mass educated using low-cost learning technologies ….
