The Hill Country Community Band and The Wimberley Community Chorus welcome you to the 10th Annual Hometown Patriotic Concert. The Hill Country Community Band was formed in 1990 as the Wimberley Community Band. Due to the rapid growth and expansion of the membership, the band’s name was changed to reflect the diverse membership from all over the central Texas area. It is an all-volunteer wind band based in Hays County. Our member roster is made up of amateur and professional players, ages from 16 to 70+, with one common interest: we love band! The Hill Country Community Band gives us the opportunity to play popular music from different decades as well as new compositions by some of the top composers of the 21st century. We work hard but laugh a lot. Our concert season begins with rehearsals in mid-August and continues through the 4th of July. For more information, to join, or to sign up to receive email notices of upcoming concerts, please visit our website: www.hillcountrycommunityband.org. The Wimberley Community Chorus, formed in 1980 with Mary Guemple as director, was incorporated as a non-profit organization one year later. The Chorus’ goal is to encourage and promote the study of music and to share musical talent with the community and each other. Throughout our 42-year history the Chorus has delighted large audiences with free concerts of classical, popular, and patriotic music. The Chorus normally has between 60 and 70 singers each concert season, which includes members of all ages. Members sing for the love of singing. A great part of their motivation is sharing the joy of music with our audiences. Wimberley Community Chorus has three concert seasons each year: spring, 4th of July, and fall. We also sing for several community organizations during the year. Rehearsals for the fall season begin the first Monday after Labor Day. If you love to sing, consider joining us. There are no auditions and a minimal membership fee.
