USA - Perry Speaks On Chechnya Conflict

(6 Jan 1995) US Secretary of Defence William Perry said on Thursday (5/1) that the U.S. had expressed its concerns to Russia about its tactics in Chechnya. Addressing the National Press Club, Perry voiced support for "the territorial integrity" of Russia but added "we are becoming increasingly concerned by Russia's tactics, which have caused many civilian casualties. We have made those views known to the Russians and will continue to make our views known."
