Challenges and Comparison of Refugee Resettlement vs Ad Hoc Arrivals

Amanda Klekowski von Koppenfels focused on three key points and looked at comparisons between the European Union and the United States in terms of their way of processing refugee applications and how they work with refugee integration. Both are multilevel and that is a challenge and opportunity. Klekowski sees some key differences between the USA and the EU. The USA sees itself as a permanent country of immigration and is a resettlement country, while the European countries are still working their way towards that direction and have 'Ad Hoc' asylum arrivals.
