The text for today deals with the spiritual blindness of the disciples as much as it does the healing of a blind man. It is a reflection on the relationship between Jesus and his disciples and how difficult it is for them to fully comprehend who Jesus is—his power, his authority, his teachings, his ministry, and the demands placed on those who believe in and follow him. The disciples' ability to clearly understand the mission, example, teachings, and call of Jesus is limited, just as the blind man's physical sight is. For them, it resembles a vague photo. Dear Friends, in the current environment, we find that irreligion, agnosticism, and the culture of death are all tendencies causing our vision to become blurred or blinding us. Whatever level of sophistication, knowledge, or enlightenment we may believe we have we are not always able to see clearly right away. Dear friends, whenever we feel weak or have petitions in our hearts, let's go to Jesus and ask Him to touch us, cure us of all our ailments, bless us, and grant all of our requests. Because we are unable to see clearly until Jesus claims us (places His hands on us). Since it is only when we approach Jesus with a humble heart that we can receive His blessings. Jesus gives us new blessings each time we visit him. To bless us, Jesus is patiently waiting. To be with us and to bestow peace and health upon us, he has descended to earth as a human being. Let's pause for a moment in silence and ask Jesus to touch us. Prayer "Lord Jesus, I give you thanks for everyone who encourages me with words of appreciation, prayers, and other forms of support.
