Our reaction to driving through flooded roads in Thailand

On our drive from Chiang Rai, Thailand to The Golden Triangle (where Laos, Burma and Thailand meet), we came across some bad traffic. We thought it must be an accident given the number of cop cars/trucks driving past us. But all of the cars had a dozen people stuffed in the back, so we were a bit confused. Turned out those people were volunteers to help direct traffic in the road flood that we ran into 5 minutes later.
