Charleston church shooting: Police, FBI manhunt underway after nine killed in gun attack - TomoNews

CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA — A massive manhunt is underway for a gunman after a mass shooting in Charleston, South Carolina. The shooter, who authorities describe as a white male, entered the historic Mother Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church on Wednesday night at around 9 p.m., according to Reuters. The Independent reports that the church was hosting a bible study in the basement when the gunman entered. He is said to have opened fired on the group and killed nine, including the church's pastor, Reverend Clementa Pinckney, 41. There were reports of a bomb at a closeby hotel, forcing residents to evacuate. The area was later given the all clear.
