Descartes Meditation IV: Of the True and the False

In the previous Meditations Descartes has discovered the he does exist as a thinking thing and also that God exists. In this Meditation Descartes raises a very interesting question, if God does exist then why is are we subject to so many errors and falsehoods? If God is a perfect being who created us a thinking conscious being why are we prone to so many mistakes? Could it be that our existence lies between the two extremes of perfection or nothingness?
