How Music Lives On Despite Memory Loss

So I worked with Jimi for about 9 months and slowly slowly his body remembered how to play. He is in the early/mid stages of memory loss. There are symbols and colors on the sheet music and he needs me to point and conduct. Now, we aren't bad! It's cute. Each time before we play he says, "I haven't played in ten years. I'm probably rusty." Please share or comment if you have a loved one with memory loss and appreciate how important music can be in helping them feel back firmly on the ground.
