My first crack at BLZR and boy was it a wild ride. It's a lot to take in. Needless to say, I'm not annoyed with how I finished, first time and all. Also, that llama temple entrance is comedic. If things were different during the recording, I would've used my usual line. I do plan on playing more of these in the future. What is BLZR? Balanced Loading Zone Randomizer (BLZR for short) is a Donkey Kong 64 Randomizer setting string where every entrance loading zone is randomized. An example, the loading zone from main isle to training grounds could be main isle to treasure chest. Or it could be llama temple. That's the basic premise. The start involves 2 random kongs, 4 random keys (including Key 8), 4 random moves (excludes Climbing and Simian Slam), Snide, and two of Shockwave, Fairy Camera, Cranky Kong, Funky Kong, and Candy Kong. Everything except for dropsanity is randomized (meaning Jetpac could be needed). Medals are set to forty colored bananas. Forest is always dusk (meaning you don't have to shoot a switch to alternate between day and night). Galleon water is lowered. The endgame consists of two random helm rooms and two random boss fights (i.e. endgame could only require Pufftoss and Kutout as opposed to only K. Rool). Bonus Barrels are set to auto-complete (including helm). The hinting system is Progressive golden bananas (as golden bananas are collected, hints will be available at certain thresholds). An interesting quirk about BLZR, is that Keys can be path to moves (example: Primate Punch is needed for Chunky phase and punch is the melon crate inside thornvine barn with thornvine barn being locked by Key 2, all moves that lead to Key 2 will lead to punch as well).
