ILO Helps Syrian Refugee and Jordanian Find Jobs in Plastic Factory

Syrian Nara Bashar works at a plastic factory in the Jordanian city of Sahab. She came to Jordan as a Refugee. She has a diploma in business administration but couldn’t find a job in her field. She approached an ILO employment centre in Sahab, Jordan, funded by the European Union, which enabled her to find a job in a factory. Now she is an essential supporter of her family, and she pays the house rent and bills. Jordanian Fatmeh Kheshfeh found a job in same factory through the employment centre, and also has motivating words for women workers. The ILO set up a network of 13 Employment Service Centres (ESCs) across the country to serve all ILO projects and interventions aimed at expanding the provision of employment services to Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians by offering a physical place where jobseekers can meet counsellors face to-face to seek employment and training advice, job matching services and career guidance. This project is supported by ILO funded by the European Union.
