Good evening and welcome to the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament followed bvy the celebration of the Holy Mass for Monday of the 34th Week in Ordinary Time and the last week of this Liturgical Year. Next week we start the Season of Advent. Today we celebrate the Memorial of St. Andrew Dung-Lac, priest and companions, Martyrs in Vietnam. Our readings today invite us to reflect upon our relationship with the Lord and how strong we are in our faith. In our Gospel we hear of the poor widow's mite and the two copper coins she puts in the treasury. The Lord praises her because she gives out of her necessity and not out of the abundance as others were doing. In our reading from Daniel, we hear about Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah and how they conformed to the ways of Babylon except in the area of their faith. They would not compromise their beliefs and remained faithful to their God. How about us? What is our sacrificial giving like? Do we only give from our surplus or do we give out of our necessities? This could be in terms of our time, talent and treasure. Do we forgo plans for the day because someone asks us to do something different? Do we share the gifts and talents God has given us in order to witness to the presence of God in our lives? Do we believe that all we have is gift from God and share our wealth with those in need? Lord Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto thine! The Responsorial Canticle is Daniel 3: "Glory and praise for ever!"
