Easy Soft Pastel Drawing For Beginners - A Butterfly

Welcome to Craft n Canvas!! Hi Folks!! Hope you all are doing good. This video is an easy tutorial on how to do Soft Pastel drawing for beginners. Pastels are one of the drawing medium used to give color to your drawings just like color pencils, crayons, paints etc. In Pastels also we have 3 kinds - Oil, hard and soft based medium pastels. In this tutorial, we are using soft pastels. Directions: • First have an outline of what you wish to draw. Here we are using a cutout of butterfly. • Begin by scraping out the colors on the drawing paper. We are using variety of colors so we are scraping each one after the other. • While blending the colors we have to use patterns Blend in circular motion Blend light color into dark. In this drawing, we have so many different colors so while blending, we have to wash off the residue from our fingers or use other fingers while blending • When you are done, Blow off the left overs from the paper. Use charcoal pencil for detailing black sections. You can draw any scene inside the butterfly. We have drawn simple scene with moon light and trees with reflections.
