WALNUT HILLS, Ohio (WKRC) - Crews were called to a fire at a Walnut Hills apartment complex Saturday morning. Officials say the fire started in a wall in one of the units on the seventh floor of the Alms Apartments on Victory Parkway around 11:30 a.m. The fire was in a pipe chase and spread smoke up the wall, filling the seventh floor with smoke. Seventh-floor residents were evacuated to a community room in the building. No one was injured. The fire was quickly put out. There was work being done on the building at the time, but officials couldn't say if that was a factor or if the fire was electrical. It's not being called suspicious, however. The fire caused about $20,000 worth of damage. Most damage was from smoke damage, and some pipes were melted. The Red Cross is helping the residents from the apartment where the fire started.
