Bomb threat leads to Jewish Community Center evacuation

AMBERLEY VILLAGE, Ohio (WKRC) - Mayerson Jewish Community Center was evacuated on Jan. 18 after a bomb threat. It was one of dozens across the country to receive such a threat, according to Mayerson JCC CEO Marc Fisher. Children at the early childhood school there were taken to the Amberley Township police station, according to an email sent to parents. Police were called in to investigate. They have given the all-clear. According to the JCC website, similar threats were phoned to more than a dozen JCCs last week. Nothing was found. During a press conference, CEO Marc Fisher said he started seeing notifications come in from the network of JCC about the same time the Amberley Village location received its threat. Fisher says the JCC's protocols and training worked well during the evacuation. Amberley Village Police Chief Rich Wallace said that local, state and federal officials were all working on analyzing the call. They couldn't say whether the call has been the same for all of the threats nationwide.
