It's the year 2020, but for some reason, it almost feels like people exclusively talk about ska records and bands from over 20 years ago. There's always talk about the "revival of ska" or the "fourth wave" but the truth is ska has always been active. Before it's commerical success, after it, and up to recent day, there's always been bands at the forefront of the DIY/underground scene, and if anything we have some of the best ska bands/records coming out right NOW SO, I've listen 10 bands who are currently active making music to really showcase and talk about. Of course, there are many many bands being active, but I truly believe these are the bands who are really doing something refreshing and innovative, the bands that really show case diversity (musically, lyrically, as people, etc.), and bands who honestly work very hard to record solid records, go on tours, create content, and exist as a band!
