At the occasion of Biden's inauguration, French and American speakers reunited to discuss the following theme: "How the freedom to travel and to study abroad keeps alive democracy and friendship between France and the U.S.A". From the Battle of Yorktown to the Normandy landings, both countries have helped each other for more than two hundred years to become democratic countries. We wanted to celebrate this long-standing international friendship and our shared commitment to freedom and democracy. Together, we reflected on this friendship, on its role as guarantor of democracy on both sides of the Atlantic, on the impact of cultural, student and teacher exchanges between our two countries on this democracy and on the how this strong bond encourages future generations to discover, grow and become citizens of the world committed to peace.
