During The Masked Singer season 14 premiere, Todd and Julie sang a rousing rendition of Elvis Presley's "Jailhouse Rock," which some fans found to be controversial because they were recently released from prison after a pardon from President Donald Trump. In June 2022, Chrisley Knows Best stars were convicted on 12 counts of tax evasion, bank and wire fraud, and conspiracy. Todd was originally sentenced to 12 years in prison, while Julie was sentenced to seven. Although they've declared their innocence, they began serving their time in jail in January 2023. However, after a pardon from President Trump, they were released in May 2025. During The Masked Singer season 14, Todd and Julie performed dressed as giant croissants, with black-and-white striped outfits that were reminiscent of prison uniforms. They were even connected by a ball and chain, which also referred to the fact that they're married. They starred on Chrisley Knows Best, among other shows, along with their children, Chase, Savannah, and Grayson, and their granddaughter, Chloe, among other family members. After their revealing Masked Singer season 14 clue package and performance, panelist Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg was the only one who guessed them correctly. The panelists' wrong final guesses included Jersey Shore stars Snooki and The Situation (Robin Thicke), country music legends Faith Hill and Tim McGraw (Ken Jeong), and The Hills stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt (Rita Ora). In an interview with ScreenRant, Todd and Julie opened up about why they said yes to The Masked Singer season 14, the poignant meaning behind their Croissants costume and what it was like performing in it, their bold song choice, their daughter Savannah's reaction to them being on the show, the panelists' guesses for them, and what's next for them as they move forward with their lives.
