Allergic to bees... and I'm a beekeeper

This is the story of my bee venom allergy and my experience getting allergy shots. I have an allergy to honey bee venom and some other vespid venom from things like yellow jackets and hornets. I have been keeping bees for over ten years and continue to do so now even after some moderate-severe allergic reactions about three years ago. Venom immunotherapy (allergy shots) is a safe and effective treatment for most individuals with allergies to insect stings.
