Alex Pereira has dethroned the long reigning middleweight champion to become the new UFC Middleweight title holder. The two duked it out and the match had a few back and forth dominance changes. All hope seemed lost for Poatan in the third round and appeared that Izzy's experience would end up outclassing the Brazillian. After a fairly passive fourth round, the final round was nothing short of pure excitement. Alex Pereira gave the match everything he had and was able to catch Adesanya many times over, ultimately ending the round with a brigade of fists that just wouldn't quit. The referee ultimately called the match and ended it by way of TKO. Fight fans and casuals alike were stunned to see King Izzy get dethroned, but new fighters will always be ready to capitalize on their moment when they finally get it.
