Worship through Music: Better The Heart of Worship Jesus Strong and Kind Run to the Father Scripture Summary In 1 Timothy 6:11–21, the Apostle Paul concludes his letter with a series of urgent, personal charges to Timothy, urging him to distinguish himself from those motivated by greed. Paul calls Timothy to flee from the pursuit of worldly wealth and instead "fight the good fight of faith" by actively pursuing virtues such as righteousness, godliness, and endurance. This exhortation is framed by a solemn reminder of Timothy’s public confession of faith and a majestic tribute to God, the "King of kings and Lord of lords," who dwells in unapproachable light. Paul emphasizes that Timothy must remain blameless and steadfast until the second coming of Jesus Christ. The passage then shifts to practical instructions for those who are already wealthy, warning them against the dangers of arrogance and the instability of riches. Rather than trusting in money, the wealthy are commanded to be "rich in good deeds," using their resources generously to build a foundation for eternal life. Finally, Paul closes the letter with a sharp warning for Timothy to guard the spiritual "deposit" entrusted to him. He is told to avoid godless chatter and the false "knowledge" that has caused some to wander from the faith, ending the epistle with a simple prayer for grace.
