Russia Ukraine War | The United Nations General Assembly is set to vote on two competing resolutions marking three years since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The United States is urging member states to support its draft resolution, which calls for a swift end to the war but does not mention Russia’s troop withdrawal. Washington is also asking countries to reject a rival resolution backed by Ukraine and European allies, which demands Russia withdraw and backs Ukraine’s territorial integrity. The vote comes as President Donald Trump pushes to broker peace with Russia, raising concerns in Europe about being sidelined from talks. In another development, European leaders will meet for an extraordinary summit on March 6 to discuss more support for Ukraine and ways to boost European defence. European Council President Antonio Costa called it a “defining moment” for Ukraine and European security.
