Donatella Versace shows new collection at Milan Fashion Week

Finale and Donatella Versace A CARNIVAL FEEL AT VERSACE Donatella Versace ended the nine days of preview winter fashion last night (MAR4) with a fast paced collection of her trademark sexy clothes, presented in an ex-warehouse on the outskirts of Milan. Taking on a carnival feel, feathers, tassles, ribbons and sequins featured heavily in the collection and Versace's long figure hugging evening dresses dominated, slashed up to the waist with plunging necklines, floaty chiffon skirts and satin ribboned bodices. Suits were tight fitting in black or neutrals. Trousers were low slung and cropped matched with high heeled shoes tied at the ankle. The single breasted fitted jackets were worn with nothing underneath. Brightly coloured satin shirts and tight long sleeved tops also featured with metallic leather hipster trousers or pencil skirts to the knee with stilletoe heeled boots in bright pinks and blues. Black created a dramatic contrast, paired with electric blue, canary yellow and fushia pink Long macs nipped in at the waist, velvet jackets and full length fur coats also featured. To mark Mardi Gras, the last night of Carnival festivities before Lenten abstention begins, the flamboyant designer threw an after show dinner and dance, where guests included rock star Christina Aguilera who attended her Autumn Winter show.
