Mazda Auto Hold + Electronic Parking Brake Trick (Automatic Parking Brake)

Many auto hold systems will automatically apply the parking brake if the driver exits the vehicle and forgets to properly secure it against rolling away. However, in many cases, the transmission is still in forward gear or neutral. In any Mazda that has auto hold, the brakes will still hold even with the shift lever in park and therefore the parking brake will automatically apply upon switching off the ignition, opening the driver's door, or unbuckling the seat belt. No other car manufacturer that I know of (besides BMW) does this. Difference is with a BMW, the auto hold system retains your settings and the function will be on the next time you start the car. Not the case with Mazda, you would have to reactivate that each time you start the car.
