2010-11 Big 12 Men's Basketball Preseason Awards

Kansas State's Jacob Pullen earned Preseason All-Big 12 Player of the Year honors after a fine performance during the 2009-10 season. Pullen started all 37 games last season and anchored the team in scoring, averaging 19 points per game. Preseason All-Big 12 Newcomer of the year is Missouri's Ricardo Ratliffe. Ratliffe set career and single-season scoring records at Central Florida Community College. The forward averaged 27.4 points and 11.3 rebounds as a sophomore en route to first team All-NJCAA All-America recognition. And Preseason All-Big 12 Freshman of the year is Kansas' Josh Selby. The Baltimore native was a 2010 McDonalds All-American and averaged 32 points for Lake Clifton High School. Selby earned top-five overall rankings by Rivals.com during his career in high school. All-Big 12 Squad: A unanimous selection at guard, LaceDarius Dunn enters the 2010-2011 season ranked fourth in Baylor history with 1,739 career points. In 2009, Dunn enjoyed a magical season, setting single-season school records for points scored and 3-point baskets. He's averaged more than 16 points per game in his career at Baylor and has completed 48 percent of his shots. Kansas State's Jacob Pullen is another unanimous selection at guard to this year's preseason All-Big 12 team. At K-State, he's already second in career steals and third in career 3-pointers and assists. In 2009, he helped lead the Wildcats to their first Elite Eight appearance since 1988. He started all 37 games last season and anchored the team in scoring, averaging 19 points per game. At forward, Kansas State's Curtis Kelly joins his teammate on the All-Big 12 preseason squad. In 2009, Kelly set the K-State single-season block record with 74, and scored in double-digits more than 20 times. Kelly finished the season with four double-doubles and is expected to be a key member of Kansas State's squad this season after starting all 37 games in 2009. Also at guard, Colorado's Cory Higgins is set to embark on the 2010-2011 season having started every game in his career with the Buffaloes. He led the team in scoring in 2009 with nearly 19 points per game while leading the Big 12 in steals in conference play. At forward, Marcus Morris of Kansas earned his spot on the preaseason All-Big 12 team after earning All-Big 12 second team honors in his sophomore campaign last season. Morris led the Big 12 in shooting percentage, hitting more than 50 percent of his baskets and scored more than 20 points five times.
