While on a flight to San Francisco to celebrate her photography win, Max realizes that the superstorm is still coming and returns to Arcadia Bay using her contest photograph. After navigating a bizarre, dreamlike nightmare sequence, Max finally arrives at the lighthouse with Chloe as the storm closes in. Chloe confronts Max and admits that their meddling with time has created the storm and that the only way to stop it is for Max to go back to the beginning and let Chloe die. Max is left with one final choice: sacrifice Chloe to save the town or sacrifice Arcadia Bay to save Chloe.
