Clouds will increase across East Texas and Southeast #Texas today, with the chance for scattered #showers and #storms this afternoon. Severe storms are not likely, though any #storm will produce dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning and heavy rain. We'll also see an uptick in cloud cover on Thursday across the western third of Texas, with perhaps a few light showers in the #Borderland. The fire weather danger, aka #wildfire risk, will increase across the western half of Texas over the coming days and into the weekend. A couple of severe storms are possible late Friday afternoon in Texoma and North Texas. If we get lucky, the cap (lid) on the atmosphere will hold tough and prevent storms from firing up. However, if we see a few storms bust through the cap and get going, they have a high potential to be severe, with big-time #hail, damaging winds, and a #tornado threat. It'll be one of those 'low-coverage, high-impact events - with most folks not seeing a drop of #rain. A cool front will push south on Saturday, bringing a drier airmass and northwesterly winds to the northern two-thirds of Texas. As the cool front pushes into Southeast Texas and South Texas on Saturday and Sunday - some folks may get some rain and storms. The overall rain chances look lower than yesterday's forecast, but I'm optimistic we can squeeze out some rain. Otherwise, we're keeping an eye on Tuesday and Wednesday next week for our next potential severe storm maker. Please EMAIL us at [email protected] for licensing inquiries!
