It’s important for everyone to take care of ourselves, across all ages. If you already know Self Care is essential for our well being, are you practicing it and how? Do you know what you can do to help your child or teen on the spectrum to practice self-care? We are happy to have Colleen Fuller, Registered Clinical Counsellor, to share with us “Self Care for Children and Teens on the Spectrum” About the speaker: Colleen Fuller has been supporting people with ASD and their families in various ways since the 1990s, first as an early childhood educator, and now as a Registered Clinical Counsellor. She studied the uniquely high-stress levels of these families as a graduate student, finding that there are a number of unique stressors to manage while walking through this issue together. Colleen has first-hand experience dealing with autism because one of her family members is on the spectrum. Colleen now works as a counsellor in New Westminster and Vancouver, connecting with and encouraging a number of adult clients who experience ASD. She has facilitated groups and taught seminars about parenting neurodiverse people, relationships, and self-care. This video was originally broadcasted live on AutismBC's Facebook page.
