Today I’m checking out Dead Take and sharing my first impressions. This is a first person psychological horror game where we’re exploring a luxurious but deeply unsettling mansion while trying to uncover what happened to a missing friend. Right from the start the atmosphere leans heavily into tension and mystery, with the environment doing a lot of the storytelling as you move deeper into the house and begin piecing together what’s really going on. This video is my first impressions of the game and could also end up becoming the first episode of a full playthrough depending on how things unfold. Psychological horror is at its best when it slowly builds dread rather than relying purely on jump scares, and Dead Take definitely seems to be aiming for that slow burn style of horror. If you enjoy narrative driven horror games with exploration, puzzles and an eerie atmosphere, this one could be worth keeping an eye on. Disclosure: I received the product for free. I did not receive any compensation to feature this game. The opinions represented here are entirely my own and were not influenced in any way.
