Tokyo Olympics to be postponed until 2021

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has asked the International Olympic Committee to postpone the Tokyo Olympic games by one year amid the ongoing deadly coronavirus crisis. Teams from Australia and Canada have already announced they would not be attending the Tokyo Olympic games which were set to occur in July 2020. The new plan for the games is for them to now be held in the northern summer of 2021.
