On Tuesday afternoon, President Joe Biden addressed the nation to speak about the mass shooting in Boulder, Colorado. Police say 21-year-old Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa shot and killed ten people, including a police officer, in a King Sooper's grocery store. He has been charged with ten counts of murder in the first degree. President Biden urged the House and Senate to act in what he calls "common-sense steps that will save lives." He went on to say that assault weapons can be banned and that gun purchasing loopholes can be closed. "This should not be a partisan issue. This is an American issue," Biden said. He has also issued a proclamation to have flags flown at half-staff in honor of the victims.
