In this week's Green Free Library Story Time video we tell one last fairy/folktale before summer starts. After our welcome song and calendar time, we talk a little bit more about May and then use a flannel board to tell the story of "Stone Soup." Our retellings of this tale include books by Marcia Brown, Ann McGovern, and Iris VanRynbach. For our art project, we make stone soup using a brown paper bag, construction paper, scissors, markers, and a stapler. We recite an original poem written by Mia Lisa Anderson as we put our ingredients in the "soup". Summer registration begins on June 1st with the first program starting on June 25th. This will also see the premiere of the 200th Story Time Video on our channel. Children in 6th grade or under who have ever come to a story time at the Green Free Library can enter a picture for the opportunity to appear on a special 200th anniversary button. Details are on our website: https://greenfreelibrary.org/. More resources for children and adults are also available here. Miss Mia will return with a new video on June 11th.
