Brain surgeon testifies on day 20 of Karen Read murder trial in Massachusetts

A neurosurgeon was the first witness on the stand on day 20 of testimony in Karen Read's murder trial in Norfolk Superior Court. When court began, the judge told jurors that she would need to speak to each of them individually at sidebar. "An issue has come to my attention," Judge Beverly Cannone said before any testimony had begun for the day. The live feed was turned off, and the courtroom was cleared. The judge did not elaborate on the nature of the issue. Eighteen jurors were selected to hear the case.
