Was invited to study in New York with Claudio Arrau when he heard her play in her hometown of Melbourne, Australia. She became a close family friend and travelled the world with him for some 30 years until his death. After her performing career ended, she became a professor at the Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music and the Yehudi Menuhin School.
