Konda Surekha Gives Clarity Over Joining Telangana Congress | CM KCR | KTR | YOYO TV Channel TRS MLA from Warangal (East) in the dissolved Assembly, Konda Surekha, has sought an explanation from the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on ‘denying’ nomination to her from the seat and accused the party of spreading rumours to dent her image. Amidst speculation that she was leaving the party, Ms. Surekha told a press conference here that despite winning the last elections with a whopping majority of over 50,000 votes, she was denied renomination. Moreover, efforts are on to blame me, she said. She claimed that IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao called her confirming the ticket for Parkal seat but her name was not in the list. She said the party wants to send her out to please leaders like Errabelli Dayakar Rao though she joined the party much ahead of them. The Chief Minister also promised me Ministry but he did not accommodate even a single woman in the Cabinet. This shows his disrespect for woman and Backward Classes. All those denied party ticket now are either SCs or BCs, she said. Ms. Surekha said she will wait for a day for the response from the Chief Minister before taking a decision on her future plans. It is widely speculated that she would join the Congress though she did not confirm it at the press conference. She was Minister for Women and Child Welfare for a few months in the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Cabinet and was known as a firebrand leader and a strong critic of Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao. In fact, her entry into TRS just before 2014 polls shocked many, including her followers.
