China launches manned spacecraft Shenzhou 11 into orbit

중국, 유인우주선 '선저우 11호' 성공적으로 발사 China has launched its manned spacecraft the Shenzhou-11 into orbit. The rocket carrying two astronauts lifted off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in western China at 7:30 am Monday local time. Less than 30 minutes afterward,... the Chinese authorities said everything had gone off as planned. The Shenzhou-11 will dock with the Tiangong-2 space lab on Tuesday,.. and the two astronauts will stay on board for 30 days -- the longest stay in space by Chinese astronauts. They'll spend the month carrying out medical and space experiments. China's manned space-flight program started in 1992 and through it, the country hopes to develop a permanent space station by the early 2020s.
