The Future For Nature Award provides the winners international recognition, financial support and reinforced linkages to an international conservation network. Every year, the Future For Nature Award is presented by a very illustrious Guest of Honour, known for their outstanding work in conservation. Throughout the years, many inspiring wildlife heroes have graced us with their visit, giving invigorating speeches and congratulating our young winners like David Attenborough, Jane Goodall, Russel A. Mittermeier, Ian Douglas Hamilton, Frans de Waal and many more. Inspired by the Future For Nature Award ceremony in 2016, Wageningen University ecologist Ignas Heitkönig and PhD student Rascha Nuijten founded the Future For Nature Academy (FFN Academy).
