ಜೈಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಆತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆಗೆ ಶರಣಾದ anti-virus ಕಂಪನಿಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಜಾನ್ ಮೆಕಾಫೀ (John McAfee commits suicide)

ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿ ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ಇತ್ತೆಂದರೆ ನೂರಕ್ಕೆ ನೂರು ಭಾಗ ನೀವು ಮೆಕಾಫಿ ಎಂಬ anti virus ಅನ್ನು ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಇದೆ. ಅದೇ anti virus ನ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಜಾನ್ ಮೆಕಾಫೀ ಜೂನ್ 22ರಂದು ಸ್ಪೇನ್ ನ ಜೈಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಆತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ! ಈ 75 ವರ್ಷದ ಮೆಕಾಫಿ ಕೋಟ್ಯಂತರ ರೂಪಾಯಿಗಳ ತೆರಿಗೆ ವಂಚನೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಅಮೆರಿಕಾದಿಂದ ಪರಾರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ. ಇವನನ್ನು ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷ ಸ್ಪೇನ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂಧಿಸಿಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಅಮೆರಿಕಾಗೆ ಹಸ್ತಾಂತರ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ಆದೇಶಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಅವನ ಸಾವಿಗೆ ಇದೇ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಕಾರಣ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದುಬಂದಿದೆ. ಮೆಕಾಫಿ ಇದೇನು ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದಲ್ಲ. ಮೆಕಾಫಿ ವಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಜೀವನ ವಿವಾದಾತ್ಮಕತೆಯಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ್ದು, 2012ರಲ್ಲಿ ಮಧ್ಯ ಅಮೆರಿಕಾದ  ಬೆಲೀಜ್ ಎಂಬಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಖರೀದಿಸಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಗದ್ದಲದ ಮೋಜು ಮಸ್ತಿ ಪಾರ್ಟಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ವೇಶ್ಯೆಯರನ್ನು ಕರೆ ತಂಡಿದ್ದರೆಂದು ನೆರೆ ಮನೆಯವರು ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೆಂಡಾಮಂಡಲವಾದ ಮೆಕಾಫಿ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಜಗಳಕ್ಕಿಳಿದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದಾದ ಕೆಲವೇ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಗುಂಡಿನ ದಾಳಿಗೆ ನೆರೆ ಮನೆಯ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಮೃತರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರು ಮತ್ತು ಈ ಪ್ರಕರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೆಕಾಫಿಯನ್ನೆ ಶಂಕಿತನೆಂದು ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಹುಡುಕಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಮೆಕಾಫಿಯ ಬಂಧಿಸಲು ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಶೋಧನೆ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ, ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಶಸ್ತ್ರ ಬೆಂಗಾವಲು ಪಡೆ, ಭಯಾನಕ ನಾಯಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಒಂದು ಯುದ್ಧವನ್ನೇ ಪ್ರರಂಭಿಸುವಷ್ಟು ಶಸ್ತ್ರಗಳು ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿದ್ದವು. ಆಗ ಬೆಲೀಜ್ ನಿಂದ ಪರಾರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಮೆಕಾಫಿ ಗ್ವಾಟೆಮಾಲಾದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಸಿದ್ದ. ಆದಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಮೆರಿಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಷ್ಟು ದಿನ ಇದ್ದು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದಲೂ ಪಲಾಯನ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ. ಅಮೆರಿಕಾದ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ಒಂದೆರೆಡು ಬಾರಿ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಿಸಿ ಹೀನಾಯ ಸೋಲನ್ನು ಕಂಡಿದ್ದ ಮೆಕಾಫಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ಹಲವಾರು ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಪೊಲೀಸರಿಗೆ ಬೇಕಿದ್ದ. ಮೆಕಾಫಿ 1987ರಲ್ಲಿ  ಪಾಕಿಸ್ತಾನದಿಂದ ಬಂದಂತಹ ವೈರಸ್ ನಿಂದ ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ಗಳನ್ನು ಬಚಾವು ಮಾಡಲು  anti virus ನನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದ. ಕೆಲ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ನಂತರ ಅವನು ಆ ಕಂಪನಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾರಿದನಾದರೂ ಅವನ ಹೆಸರಲ್ಲೇ ಮುಂದುವರೆದಿತ್ತು. The founder of such a popular anti virus company John McAfee committed suicide on June 22 in a jail in Spain. The 75 year- old-man had run away from America where police were looking for him for evading taxes worth crores of rupees. He was arrested in Spain last year and a court recently decided that he should be handed over to American police. And that made him end his life. Mcafee led a controversial life and that was not his first time he had run away from police. In 2012 he was living in a central american country called Belize. He bought a huge house on the beach and was hosting noisy parties every day. He was on drugs and was known to hire prostitutes regularly. He got into a fight with a neighbour who complained against the noise. When the neighbour was found shot dead , Belize police started looking for Mcafee as prime suspect. When they raided his house they found armed guards, ferocious dogs and enough guns to start a war. But Mcafee escaped from Belize, went to Guatemala and then to America from where he again fled after a few years. Mcafee was wanted by police in a few other cases also. He also contested for US elections twice and lost badly. McAfee started the anti virus company in 1987 to protect computers from a virus that had come from Pakistan.
