The casualty rate for Russian soldiers in Ukraine rose to a new monthly high in March, according to Ukraine’s armed forces, which said increased drone production enabled a record number of strikes. Ukraine reported 35,351 Russian casualties last month, with drones responsible for 96 per cent of them, while artillery and small arms fire accounted for the remainder. The figure marked a 29 per cent increase compared with February, according to Ukraine’s commander-in-chief. Ukraine’s defence ministry stated that Russia has been unable to fully replace its losses since December.
