Trackmaster Tale of the Brave (2014 redesign) Thomas water tower starter set Unboxing and review

The new design of Trackmaster is a three pronged attack on consumers, forcing you to buy an all new track system to get the new trains to run well even though they are the same gauge as the previous trains. 1) Longer wheelbase (wont work with previous sets). 2) Hard nylon grooved tyres only work well with the new track. 3) Activation/locking tab hangs too low making it bottom out and run poorly on older track. Will you fall for their marketing magic and buy a whole new system? UPDATE: A fix for it to be able to run on the blue track is here! http://www.blueplastictracks.com/show... Hi Guys and Gals a sad video today, this new trackmaster redesign is full of fail and no-one is sadder than myself. I would have loved for it to be good but sadly Fisher price/Mattel have turned around and stabbed us in the back :( This will be the last new Trackmaster item I buy until they at least change the wheels back to some semblance of how they used to be. Oh but it can climb hills hauling 1 empty truck! who cares honestly, to me the range is ruined and say what you like about me and other adult toy reviewers/collectors players we are a discerning bunch who want the best. Basically a money grab so you have to start from scratch with your track (might as well throw your current track away and start with this new inferior track), The new locomotives do not work with the current trackmaster accessories which I think should be a warning on the box but instead it says "May not work with some trackmaster sets" I suppose 99% is some sets in the legal sense. This and the other new engines do not run on the blue track, AT ALL! the piece that hangs down below the rear axle is low and causes the loco to become beached on points, stop and go tracks and every second track join. I am saddened because I wanted to continue to buy and enjoy Trackmaster especially the new releases they frequently do. But alas it looks like this is my last Trackmaster 2.0 item (I just can't run them so I will not be buying any more). I give this set 2/10 the quality is not there anymore. its fine for someone just starting out with motorized Thomas but for the rest of us with large track and accessory collections it may be time to look elsewhere.
