Today we're going to be taking a look at the currency connector vehicle wiring harness with the 4 pole flat trailer connector. This inaudible 00:00:07 is going to fit your 2005 to 2010 Kia Sportage. This is designed for 6-cylinder models only. It's going to provide your 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle. This is going to power your trailer's signal lights. This is compatible with 5 pole, 6 pole, and 7 pole adapters. Adapters are sold separately. It's going to come with the dust cap for the 4-way flat connector, that way you can cover up the connection points when the plug is not being used. The black box right here, this is going to be the included taillight converter. This is going to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer's. The unit's constructed using surface mount technology which is going to offer consistent reliable performance. What that does is it simply maximizes the trailer light yield and intensity while producing minimal heat, and it's going to ensure superior operation in rougher conditions. Another great benefit of a system like this is that it's designed to connect quickly and easily. You don't have to worry about cutting or splicing any wires. All you have to do is locate the connection point behind the rear bumper, plug in your connector, this is going to be vehicle specific, so the ports are going to match up perfectly to one another, and then they're going to snap lock together for a nice, tight, secure fit. Then you'll need to make a ground connection. That's going to be white wire with the ring terminal attached to it. You'll make a ground connection to a nice, clean, metal surface with the included grounding screw, and then you'll need to mount the converter box using the double-sided adhesive tape provided in the kit. Once you have everything connected, you can go and secure any excess wires or slack in the wire with the included zip ties. Once your installation is complete the 4-way connector can be stowed beneath the vehicle near the trailer hitch. You can loop it around the safety chain loop or you can purchase a mounting bracket that is sold separately, but we do recommend it to keep the connector secure and easily accessible by the hitch. It's also recommended that you use a small amount of dielectric grease on all your electrical connections, like the plugs on the vehicle and the 4 pole connector itself. That grease is going to do a great job at preventing corrosion to the connection points. When it comes to the maximum amperage for the stop and turn lights, we're looking at 3 amps per circuit. For the taillights it's 5 amps per circuit. It's also going to come with detailed installation instructions. These are going to walk you through the entire process step-by-step.
