This is a difficult yet enlightening story about an Asian young man from Hawaii and his experience at home and on the mainland. Like elsewhere, parents wonder where their kids are when they are out. In Honolulu it is Waikiki that draws both tourists and residents. In Justin's case, though from a well off family, he was alone and detached from home. He was also unwell and in need of treatment. The stage was set when he approached me for help, which in turn evolved into a 15 year drama, ending with his untimely death at 34 in WA State. So what is it about? There is Hawaii's history of being Hawaiian or Asian in the face of racism even being a majority. It's about the perils of being young and vulnerable pursued by adults with bad intent. Ironically these issues are plaguing our society on a national scale. Here is a Memorial of Justin • The Story of Justin-Memorial
