Subscribe to The Escapist! http://bit.ly/Sub2Escapist Escapist News Now with Andrea Rene Follow Andrea on Twitter @andrearene EA OPENS DICE STUDIO FOR STAR WARS GAMES EA revealed that they are opening a new DICE studio based right here in Los Angeles and they will be working on a new Star Wars game. According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, EA made this move to position themselves to acquire talent from the #1 competitor, Activision, who is also based in the city with developers Infinity Ward and Treyarch. DICE, known as Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment currently operates out of Stockholm where they created Battlefield games. Their new LA studio is considered to be a "key cog" in EA's plans for development in the Star Wars franchise. They are aiming to add 60 new staff members by the end of the year, in addition to the members that have already joined from former Medal of Honor studio Danger Close.
