40145 LARGE LOGO HEYWOOD LIGHT ENGINE

Here we have a fourteen second shot of large logo Class 40 40145 running light engine seen here idling along the line at a leisurely pace just before Heywood railway station. This shot was taken from the side of the track, stood in a field used as a children's football pitch. The CFPS mainline locomotive was about to leave the East Lancashire Railway heading towards Scotland to head the SRPS rail tour from Carlisle to Fort William running on the 25th August 2007. Here we see Dave Peacock driving the loco and the date was Wednesday 22nd August 2007. Thanks to CFPS Committee member John Stephens for getting me to this location with seconds to spare.
