President Uhuru Kenyatta has ruled out any possibility of him and his deputy William Ruto simultaneously attending trials at the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Addressing a prayer rally at Ruiru in Kiambu County, the President said the ICC must respect the fact that he and Ruto have a constitutional responsibility to run the country, a mandate that cannot be compromised. Uhuru said the ICC should reciprocate the co-operation they have accorded the court, by recognizing their leadership responsibilities and allow them to attend the cases in turns to avoid a power vacuum.
