On this June 29th, 1992 episode of Countdown with Richard Whiteley, it's the first episode of the 24th series of the show. There are two new players as the previous champion vacated the seat as they had become an Octochamp. The two new players are Bernadette Battman and Wayne Summers, the latter of whom is 15 years of age in this episode. The guest in Dictionary Corner is Rula Lenska, and joining her is a new lexicographer, who would later become the permanent lexicographer and today celebrates her birthday as of the day this video was publicized, Susie Dent.
