Flame Testing for Qual Lab

Flame testing for Ba, Ca, Cu, K, Li, Na, Sr cations in the qualitative analysis lab. Flame testing is difficult because some flames are quite brief, some are hard to see and some are orange just like the paper clip color that persists upon intense heating. Don't dip the hot paper clip into the plastic well and melt it! Good luck!
